Jump into a coaching session with Christine Riad as she works with educators to demonstrate how a real-world bus seating problem can create EQUITABLE ACCESS to mathematics by valuing diverse problem-solving approaches and manipulative use across grade levels, while using careful OBSERVATION of students' solution strategy to show how students can authentically EXPERIENCE mathematics through hands-on exploration rather than prescribed procedures.

Christine Riad brings over 25 years of experience in math education as a teacher, coach, and leader. Currently serving as Math Coach and Program Manager for the UCLA Math Project, Christine is dedicated to empowering educators and fostering equitable math practices that strengthen student and teacher math identities. With a deep commitment to supporting underrepresented youth, she strives to create inclusive and engaging learning environments that address systemic barriers in education. Drawing on extensive experience in professional development and instructional coaching, Christine integrates practical strategies with research-based approaches to enhance teaching and learning outcomes. Passionate about equity and access, Christine continues to advocate for innovative solutions that help all students thrive in mathematics.
